I purchased a dress in May from Krista Eberle (a boutique shop) in Jacksonville, FL. I live 300 miles away and asked if I could return the dress within 7 days as the return policy indicated. I was told yes. I returned the dress because it didn't fit. I contacted the store to let them know the dress was enroute. I was told then that I could only receive store credit (as noted on the reciept). The specific reason I asked several times if I could return the dress was because I lived out of state. Several days later I received the dress I had sent fed ex in the mail in a box from the US postal service (dress wasn't wrapped in tissue paper or anything else). I promptly called the store and asked to speak with the manager. She indicated she knew nothing about it and would call me back. Two days later I still had heard nothing. I called again and she assured me she would call me back. I never received a phone call. Since customer service should be at the top of the list (and obviously it wasn't here) I should have realized this would be difficult. I returned the dress again via fed ex and opened a dispute through American Express (which is how I had paid for the dress). She wrote a letter to American express stating I had returned the dress damaged and the seamtress couldn't repair it. As stated prior I sent it through fed ex in a bubble envelope, wrapped. I still have the fedex receipt. I feel like I bought the dress in good faith and to keep a customer who could recommend others to her in that area would be beneficial to her in the long run. The fact that this business has operated with tactics such as this is deplorable. All I asked for is my money back ($310) because I live out of state and returned the dress within the 7 day time period.
