Belongings being held hostage, money constantly being demanded 'or else'

The details of my experience with INTLMove are not surprising and are very similar to the handful of you who have previously reported this company. I'll keep it to the bare (and painful) facts!

* [ JAN] Quotation provided when they secured the business with me for $2499 - AFTER ONSITE QUOTE

* Persuaded to add $600 for extra 'peace of mind' with labor costs (as only my wife would be present on tha day of packing)

* Insurance cost $410 - with Atlas Insurance (whether this company is part of the ripoff, remains to be seen)

* [MAY 21st 2008] Items were packed and apparently an overflow charge meant I owed another: $1900 (When I queried why it was so much higher than the onsite quote - they said "they do not send anyone onsite to give quotes"!!!???

* [ JUNE 9th] They attempt to charge 300 for having sent above $1900 to the ops@intlmove.com, instead of acc@intlmove.com. Later cancelled.

* [remainder of JUNE, and ALL OF JULY] - no news real information despite several emails asking status of shipment. Was told on 30th June its 'in consolidation waiting to be loaded'. Mid July was told current ETA will be late August/Early Sept.

* [1st August] Request for $587 for 'Land fuel surcharge and BAF'. Both of these items are on my Binding Quote - of which my Order for Service is based on. Emails sent immeidately asking for clarification - NO RESPONSE.

I've had enough now. Anyone not as stupid as me and reading this, please do not use this company.
I dont know whether I'll ever receive my shipping - I just now I have no more money to give them after $6000 thats already been given to them. I have been trying to survive without my belongings for too long now. All the research i'm doing now (that i clearly should have done beforehand is revealing TOO many things to list here!)
