Tried to rope me in deceptive company

I was contacted by Haldane about 1 month ago after posting ny resume on the internet. I showed up for the interview early in the am. As background I have 15 years of sales management experience and have seen every sleazy sales or deceptive practice out there and know how to combat and disarm them.

A few things tipped me off to what I should expect. The VP I was meeting with cut her teeth at Colorado Prime which does not have the best record in dealing with consumers. I was led into her office and she did all the talking while stroking my ego. She wanted to get the spouse on the phone immediately and get started.

This is so that prospects can't use the "I have to discuss it" excuse because the spouse is already there. The entire program while seemingly thorough, was in retrospect monumentally vague and vapid as to what they would do to find me a job. Being able to play the game as well, I came back the following day to see if there was anything concrete to their program and had my spouse call in to the meeting.

I played dumb throughout and let her throw out the fact that for $7,000 they could benefit me.By the way I had previously instructed my wife to leave the call unexpectedly in the middle so as not to fall into the trap.

MRS VP was a bit perturbed that she could not stay as that throws a wrench into her formatted pitch. Suffice it to say that I declined their service but did "compliment" them on their sales techniques.

It works with a vast majority of others I am sure. At best it can be described as preying on the vulnerabilities and narcissm of others. The advice they offer can be had for less or free by researching books and the internet and various networking clubs all over the country. Just my 2 cents.
