Installation Contractors Back-Charged Full Retail for Equipment

Mastec and DirecTV are treating the installers who do their field work unfairly, using business methods that are deceptive and tilt things in their own favor. Contractors get billed the entire retail price of equipment that they had already put into customers' homes and activated. Money is taken out of their pay with no supporting records to justify it. Forged paperwork has been produced to recover payment for equipment the contractor never got. Phone lines are charged back as supposedly not connected on installation day, with no consideration for whether phone service was even available then, or whether the customer asked for the connection or refused it. Contractors are also charged back for defective equipment they have no control over, and DirecTV is fully aware of how unreliable its manufacturers' products are. They are charged back as well for problems that customers caused themselves. A large share of ancillary work fees is kept even though the contractor supplies every material used in the installation. Final invoices go unpaid, and there are many other deceptive practices.
Legal action is under way, and reports have been submitted to the Federal Trade Commission, the BBB and other government agencies. Anyone who has been treated this way by these employers, please get in touch at the contact given (Redacted). We want to collect enough evidence to move forward with a class action lawsuit against DirecTV and Mastec, or any other HSP companies that follow the same example.
