There are government agencies where you may obtain a "true" free credit report from. Freecreditreport.com will charge your account $14.95 per month if you don't call and cancel. No bill or corespondence is ever mailed to you your account is just tapped and unless you are looking for the charge...
Again, nothing free about freecreditreport.com unless youcancel 7 days after you sign up. I am surprised the FTC lets them advertise as "Free". I hope I have atleast helped someone from being taken as I was.
