Sold us a sick dog that we had to euthenize within 10 months

We purchased a Boxer from the Westminster store in June. Our puppy was on antibiotics at the time we were told for an eye infection. We took her to thier vet, had her vaccines and we were told she was healthy.

Within a month and a half our dog had a severe rash with pustules between her eyes. Unfortunatley this vet misdiagnosed her with skin allergies. We treated her with a topical and changed her food. We contacted Moondoggies and alerted the Manager of this.

Within a few weeks her conditioned had worsened and she was losing her hair and had swollen eyes. We then were able to take her to our vet and with visual and lab tests she was diagnosed with Generalized Demodecic Mange.

We began treating her with oral medications and a very painful toxic dip, that made her sick for days. It is like a chemotherapy dip treatment. We would do the full treatment, she would feel and look better for a few weeks and then her hair would begin to fall out and she would get sick again. Another round of treatments.

By April of her condition worsened. She was in pain, tapping her feet because the mites were in her cuticles and she still weighed less then 50 lbs at 10 months. The vet suggested the humane thing to do at this point would be to euthenize our dog, so with much pain to us we lost a member of our family.

Throughout this whole ordeal I was in constant contact with the manager of Moondoggies, calling, faxing and e-mailing and sending photos. They refused to let me speak with anyone higher then the store manager. They don't return calls and nothing has been done to right this matter.

Although they have a one year warranty on thier animals, which they seem very well trained to find loop wholes, this is about what our family went through losing our dog and what our dog suffered because of the puppy mill breeders they deal with. Mange is only transmitted from the mother to a nursing pup.
