Paying to get a job?

I recieved a call asking if I was interested in an appointment. I accepted thinking it was a temporary placement agency. I was asked if I knew the percentage of hires from newspaper ads, 9% and online ads, 10%. Placement agencies was 1.?? %. If this was true, wouldn't there would be more people out of work?

When I arrived, I was not asked typical questions. I was asked my marital, financial, and educational status and whether I had children. I was told they take all of this into consideration when deciding who to 'market' me to. I was told many things and quoted promises which seemed too good to be true without paying. I had a feeling.

Forty-five minutes into the 'meeting' the money card was sprung. $5,000 - $8,000 to get packaged, marketed, made over and sold to a company with promises the hiring company creates positions.

I was told it would COST me money to get the same assistance I can get from an unemployment office.
