Liquidation.com
Liquidity Services Inc Company participates in or allows fraudulent transactions

Shops, Products, Services

First of all, you cannot communicate with a seller through their website like on eBay, eBid, and other auction sites. If you click on a seller's name it simply shows all their auctions, unlike other sites where you have an option to view other auctions or send the seller a private message through the website.

This is why I state that I think they are either participants in fraud or just allow it to happen.

Like when I ordered 1,200 pairs of sunglasses. Part of the shipment was "lost" so they said, and part of it was received. UPS says it was scanned at liquidation.com warehouse and no scans after that. I was told it had probably been stolen (at their location).

I had to wait 30 days for UPS to declare the shipment as lost, and get a partial refund for the order. To get that I had to talk to the president of the company.

The shipment that did arrive did not match the items in the pictures. The auction showed high quality fashion sunglasses but I received junk that a dime store would be embarrassed to put on a shelf. One of the boxes - that was supposed to contain one dozen of a particular style - contained an assortment of broken sunglasses of various cheap styles.

Oh, the seller still sells these sunglasses - their username is "HotFashions". They were contacted about my transaction but never replied.

And if you're unhappy about your auction, they have a dispute process. You have 48 hours to contact them after your good are received. And if it takes 30 days for UPS to determine where all of your goods are, and another couple of weeks to speak with a bunch of company reps - until you finally find yourself on the phone with the company president - you probably won't realize that you've already missed your opportunity to file a dispute in the first place.

I also bought a bunch of clothes (my first auction) from user "overstocksales". We got about 3 nice pieces from a lot of over 100. The pictures did not match what we received. We did not file a dispute, but should have.

Do not buy from liquidation.com, or sellers "hotfashions" or "overstocksales". Those are the only two sellers I bought from - both horrible experiences. It would appear that if liquidation.com is not engaged in criminal activity themselves, they encourage it - or don't prosecute it.

And why would they? Do you know what they charge to put up an auction? I know because I thought about selling my stuff back through their site, but instead of cheating someone I'd take actual pictures of this junk and pray I got half my money back.

But I don't have a chance.

They charge $200 or 15%, whichever is greater, to sell on their site. I was told "you need to make at least $200 before you'll see any money" by one of their reps.

I'm interested in participating in a class action lawsuit against the company and/or their sellers.
