Model Search NYC Photographers do not produce professional looking portfolios. I have seen hundreds of portfolios by over a dozen of their professionals and is seems that a halfway decent portfolio only happens by chance. New York is not the only place to go for images needed for the agents. They encourage you to beleive that you will never find a good photographer if you are not in NYC. This is untrue. There are great fashion photographers in every region of the country.
One option that has worked for many aspiring models is to check the art colleges and find an advanced fashion photography student to get started. They find the ones who study under instructors who were or are fashion photographers themselves. Unfortunately, when these students graduate, the great ones move on to New York or L.A.
Even though students usually will work for free in exchange for use of the images in their portfolio, this is not an issue of money, this is an issue of quality.
