Rude recruiters, put my file on "warning" status for not completing job, even though job supervisor asked me not to return

I worked for PersonnelOne in 2005 and 2006.in October '06, I was sent on a one-month assignment for a company in Lake Mary. The recruiter, Denise, told me the job consisted of working on Excel spreadsheets, and doing data entry. However, the actual job consisted of mainly filing, and reorganizing filing cabinets. Most of our day (there were 3 other temps besides myself) consisted of sitting in a room, talking, and waiting for the supervisor, Michelle, to come back and tell us what to do next.

I had been looking for permanent jobs during this time, and received a job offer. I told Denise that the permanent job would start on Nov. 16, and I would need to end the assignment early. I also told her that Michelle told us we would be required to spend the rest of our time there on the phones, making customer service calls. I also told Denise that she had never mentioned to me I would have to be on the phones, but if she had, I would not have accepted the assignment. When I told this to her, she was rude and curt, and said I was obligated to finish the assignment. However, she did say she would speak to Michelle to tell her I did not like phone work, and ask if she wanted me to return. I was told not to return.

However, Denise said that because I did not finish the assignment, my file would go on "warning status" meaning that I could still work for PersonnelOne in the future, but that any client who was interested in hiring or interviewing me would be told that I did not finish a previous assigment (and therefore might assume that I am not reliable, etc). This was unfair. They told me not to return to the assignment! I may as well forget about ever working for them again, since a client will most likely not want to hire me.

Please avoid PersonnelOne! They are rude and unfair and treat you like dirt.
