Maverick Country Store
Verbally assaulted by store clerk / manager in front of my two minor children

My 14 y.O. Son and 10 y.O. Daughter went for a late night drive and stopped at a convenient store for a drink. We had finished filling our three cups with ICEE's when the freeze cycle button came on. As we were walking away from the machine, a manager/clerk yelled from a back room to "Stop Using The Icee Machine! In an angry voice.

I asked the other clerk at the register if the person yelling at us realized we were customers. The girl responded by shrugging her shoulders at me. When the manager/clerk came out of the back room, she gave me a dirty look and shook her head at me like I was stupid. I then asked her if she realized she was yelling at me, a customer.

Her response was "yes, I wanted you to leave the machine alone while it was trying to refreeze. I tried to explain to her that we had already got our drinks when the machine went to beeping and that we hadn't touched it since. She
angrily snapped at me that she didn't know that.

My response to what I thought was rude and inappropriate behavior was to slam my drink on the counter and called my kids to come with me as they left their drinks behind as well. As we were exiting the store, the middle aged woman yelled "_uck You!" Then she hurriedly came around to the door with one of our discarded drinks in her hand and said, "take this, you apparently need it worse then we do."

I was astonded by her behavior as I have purchased many gallons of fuel and other items at this store. I also have worked in the public for more than 25 years and I would never treat a customer like that. To make it worse she told me I had acted like a 2 year old by me slamming my drink on the counter as I was walking to my car.

The worse part of this is we were out celebrating my son's 14th birthday and she totally ruined the evening for us as she had my two children scared by her actions. They both felt we needed to get in our car and get away from her.
