Carousel Checks
Cheap to the extent of not working

Needing some replacement checks recently, I picked Carousel because it was the among the first showing up in a Google search, and I thought checks are standard items, what can possibly go wrong, might as well save money!

Knowing that I only do this once every 3 years, and have to get it 100% right, I carefully all cut and pasted the information from emails and web pages.

When the checks arrive, the account number has been truncated, and (minor point) the checks arent cut cleanly.

I called up, now answer... Left message for (a) customer service, and, (b) tech support. No answer. Strange, since they want you to call back "IMMEDIATELY" in case of an error.

Next day, I call again and go through company phone directory and picked a name at random. Got to customer service (who wasnt answering her own line!).

She insisted hadnt received message ("possibly because of new phone system"). Then said I'd made mistake entering numbers, which made me mad. And kept rebutting points before I'd made them, which made me madder, and suggests this is a familiar scene for them.

Then I was asked to place another order at 20% off. I told her that if I was not believed about entering data and leaving message, saw no reason to deal with them. And they would earn a lot more in goodwill by simply fixing problem, than they would lose when I shared my frustration with others. But she was like a stuck record, offering only to pay more for fresh reprints.

So, I'll stop the credit card payment and share my story with all I know. Reordered with WalMart - they may be cheap, but they have a reputation to protect.
