I signed up for this food service and was induced into purchasing overpriced silverware and china to recieve a lifetime discount on food's. The interest rate despite my good credit was 19%. The food was guaranteed or would be replaced with the next order no question's asked. The food quality on many items was poor and they wuld nt replace it or give credit.

I stopped making payment's and they took it upon themselves to just start making draft's from my checking account without authorization from me. They successfully hit my account once and messed up my balance and caused a string of overdraft's costing me in excess of $240.

They then proceed 3 more times unsuccessfully to draft more money from my account. When those attempts failed they sent me a letter saying they were turning me into the sheriff's police for writing bad check's. All this time they were calling me trying to make collection attempt's.

When I finally spoke to someone named Maricel in authority she tried to tell me it was all an accident that they had just changed software and someone had accdentally checked a box for automatic deduction payment's instead of a 1 time payment.

If this was not bad enough one time over a year earlier my wife had written them 1 check on a different account We had paid off. They kept her information on file and drafted money out of her account using my name and personal information but her accout number. She had to go to her bank and fill out a fruadulent activity report and the bank returned the money to her account.

She called and complained and they told her I had personally caled and told them to take the funds from her account. Which is a complete lie. We have separate accounts and I am not a party to her account and have no legal authority to authorize such a thing.

Maricel asked me to fax my bank statement to prove I had incurred those overdraft fee's which I did. Even with that they refused to even pay the cost's they had caused with their illegal draft's. The police tell me it falls under wire fraud, theft and embezzlemtn and is federal jurisdiction.

Home Acceptance just keeps calling 7-8 times a day demanding payment. When i refused and told them I had made a police report their repsonse was to sue my wife and I in small claims court.

The problem is the amount of the total contract is too small for anyone to bother $2,500. The police chase people stealing million;s first and if they have time get down to lower amount's. Attorneys say it cost's $30,000 or more to go to trial so it's not worth it and small claims does not award judgements for punitive damages so as to punish these people.

So they rip off small individual consumers and break the law and get away with it.
