Guillermo Scam Raised price and work is bad

We hired this architect for our blue prints. We got sucked into the low price of $. 20 per square foot. He was not understanding what we wanted, and after a few revisions and changes, he suddenly told us it would be more money. We argued with him about it. He finally called and said he made an arrangement with our builder and that he could make more changes.??? Okay. It sounded as though everything was fine.

We struggled to finally get him to understand what we wanted. Problem is, he works out of his house, so you can not meet with him at his computer. He e-mails you draft plans, but if you insist, he will meet with you at a McDonalds or Starbucks. We were running short on time, so we went with what we had and told him to print out the large plans. When my wife went to pick up the plans, he hijacked her saying it would be more money because of all of the changes. Fine whatever. We just wanted the plans at that point. To make matters worse, the plans were not that good, and he did not account for any space for the HVAC (AC) units. We had to give up two of our sorely needed closets.

Bottom line - don't use this guy. Pay a little more and go with somebody more professional that actually has an office and more experience. We ended up paying more anyway, so we should have just paid more up front to a more professional architect.
