Keeps billing me (and I am not their customer anymore!)

I switched my business phone service from Spectrotel, Inc to Verizon on December 4. Verizon provided me with a confirmation number that they notified Spectrotel. Spectrotel said they did not receive any notice of this until December 30th.

Spectrotel has continued to bill me, and send my invoices to a collections agency. When I decided enough was enough of the incesant calls, I paid up "to make it go away" as the collections guy called it, he also referred to it as a conveinience fee to keep my credit in good standing.

To my utmost suprise, I received another bill from Spectrotel, and the same response from the collections agency. How dumb can this company be. They said they know my service switched but I am still being billed?

Calls to the company have gone unreturned, so I have sent in complaints to the Rhode Island AGs office and Public Utilities Commission.

I am just looking for my money back that was basically stolen for convience sake, as well as compensation for my time that has been poured into this matter to simply make the billing stop.
