Littleton Coin Company
Sent me a bill for goods that I didn't purchase

Shops, Products, Services

This company is sending me things I did not request and they are billing me for it. I'm no coin collector and know nothing on this subject. A while ago this company sent me a catalog with a sample of a 2007 silver dollar. I treated it as junk mail, tossed all the paper stuff and gave the coin to some kid. Today I received a bill that read this:

Dear this person,

Thank you for answering our recent advertisement, we hope that this selection has met your expectations.

As promised in this special offer that you purchased on December 20, you also received a selection of merchandise from our Free Examination "Coins-an-Approval" Service. This convenient risk-free service allows you to examine merchandise for up to 15-days in the comfort of your own home and allows you to purchase some or all of the merchandise.

With our shop-at-home approval service, you will receive additional selections approximately once a month. As always, you can return the entire selection with no obligation to continue this service.

I hope that you have had time to look over this exciting selection and have made your decision on the item (s) that you wish to purchase. If your payment is already on its way, please disregard this reminder. If you have not yet made your decision, we ask that you please take the time to do so now. You may use the enclosed envelope included with your order to forward us your payment and/or the coin (s) that you wish to return. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 1-800-645-3122 if you have any questions. Our knowledgeable Customer Service staff will be glad to assist you with your collecting needs.

Again, thank you for choosing Littleton Coin Company. We look forward to your continued patronage.

Sincerely,
Some Credit Manager

First, I did not answer any of their advertisement. Second, I did not make a purchase on Dec 20.

I know I didn't get ripoff, or lose any money. They don't have my credit card number. Consumers are allow to keep unsolicited goods without paying for them. I just want to raise awareness and for everyone to know, that there are still companies out there using this tactic. Please be aware, and speak out when it happens to you.

This little incident better not damage my credit report. I will update if this has any interesting development.
