Total waste of your time

So I recently graduated from college and was job searching and found what I thought was a job that sounded too good to be true with Mclemore. The job was described as a PR/Marketing/Event job that worked with charites such as DARE and Toys for Tots. I thought wow this sounds perfect, a job that utilized my degree and helped out some causes I cared about. I was defintley wrong.

Mclemore Advance Concepts was nothing like I expected it to be. I get to my interview one afternoon, sit at talk with the HR guy for like 30 minutes because my interviewer was late. Well he never came so I ended up interviewing with the HR guy for about 10 minutes, then he told me if I was a top canidate they would call me back before 6pm that afternoon so I could go on an all day second interview.

I got the call back from Ryan himself, talking about how I was such a standout canidate to him and they would defintely like to take me out on an event for the day so I can get a better feel for the company. Oh yeah, and he also stressed the importance of wearing comftorable shoed. So, I got there at 9am met my trainer for the day and was then drilled with interview questions in the parking lot as she marked up my resume.

We then left for our "event" which ended up being out in like Temple or Kileen, I didn't even know where I was to be honest. We ended up setting up this stupid tent outside of a Walmart and I basically watched as my trainer tried to get everyone who passed by to "donate" money for a DARE "gift exchange". The weather that day wasn't so good either, it ended up pouring all afternoon.

I finally got to sit down when we went into the Walmart and ate at the crappy McDonalds inside where I had to pay for my own lunch so my trainer could tell me about the bad salary, crappy hours, and awful benefits. It was the worst day ever, we were at Walmart until 5:30 or so that day and I was required to wear business attire to this "event". So not only was I hot, tired and uncomfortable I wasted a whole day out there only to get back and have a final interview with Ryan. He proceeded to tell me what a great assest I would be for the company and how I myself could be in his shoes in a short amount of time. Finally after that I got home at around 8pm and was exhausted after being put through so much bull* in one day.
