Charged me for services they never performed Los Angeles, California

In October of I went to LegalZoom to have them file my LLC paperwork with my state and the Federal Gov't, a process they told me would take seven weeks at the most. It took seven weeks just to get the state application submitted, and another three weeks to process it. Granted that may not be their fault, but they set up a false expectation.

What they did next was just wrong. I have an itemized bill showing they charged me $79 to apply for an Employer ID Number with the IRS (A free service, provided by the government), and another $40 to apply for a State Tax ID (Again, another free service). Trouble is, they never applied for these IDs on my behalf.in mid December, I had to phone the IRS and my state Dept. Of Revenue to get these two numbers.

When I called LegalZoom to dispute the charges, they checked and found that they never even submitted the applications for these numbers. They agreed I was entitled to a refund, but they never sent it.

At first they tried to refund the money to a 'one-time-use' prepaid Visa card, but that couldn't be done. I instructed them to send me a check for it, and at that point they ceased all communication with me. E-mails go unanswered, letters go unanswered, phone calls go only as far as the person on the other end finding out who I am and then they hang up.

LegalZoom Owes me $138, for services unrendered, and they refuse to pay it.
