I recently learned that after I placed an order online for some signs, some other unauthorized charges started to appear. The biggest charge was for $1,200 plus dollars made to cingular (aka the new at&t) and, although I did not expect much help, I called the number that showed on my records to see where I was going to be taken. Finally, after being transfer from here to there, somebody decided to take the challenge and after some exchange of information she told me that no transaction could have been made without my social security number and my license, which I did not think the person who made the charges knew, but she was so certain of her company's requirements that I had to give her numbers out of concern that indeed my entire information was being taken. To her disbelief and some of my relief, there was no record of it and she could not explain how it went through AND could not give me any more info. She suggested that I called my bank on that, which I had done already.
