Hotcards False Claims, Bad Product, Broken Promises

I had a couple problems with the full color printing company HotCards.com. It took two to three tries to get the job done right on two separate printing projects. Their claim to be "the nation's lowest price printing company" is false. And Lastly, in this instance their claim to price match lower printing prices is also false.

The first job Hotcards.com printed for me was cut incorrectly. The re-print was printed in black and white on one side when my art was in color. I accepted the black and white print but asked for some sort of compensation for the mix up. A partial refund would have been ideal but the salesperson convinced me that I should take a credit that I could then use on my next printing order.

About a month later I was ready to use my credit but by then I found several other printing companies offering the same product as HotCards.com (better products in some instances) but at lower prices, right here in Cleveland Ohio. HotCards.com claimed to match prices so I provided the required info for a price match. With the credit I was owed and the price match AND Hotcards.com paying extra special attention to me due to the print defect the first time around I was confident that I would receive what was due to me: a quality product! But I was just lost in the shuffle again. The second job had a print defect as well. Hotcards.com made another attempt and the cards were cut poorly. At this point I just wanted my money back. Not only did HotCards.com not give me my credit and not match the lower price estimate and never deliver a quality product but they charged my credit card for full price PLUS a rush charge!

I am writing this report after several failed attempts to receive the refund that I was promised. I tried to rectify the situation with phone calls, emails and a personal visit during which I was insulted by something that I overheard among the office chatter regarding a certain ethnic group being cheap. I doubt it was directed towards me personally but I walked out and was through with them for good.

I did receive a partial refund eventually.
