I placed order with company on Nov 30. Order was confirmed by email 3 times before told one item was not in stock: black pair of Levis 501 jeans. This was a Christams gift which was now on backoder till Dec 31.

Company took my money and charged me shipping and handling when they did not have the merchandise.

Have made many calls to company with no sucess. They accused me of using vulgar language, mainly the word &, when in reality I was using the word AS, in AS I have called you many times. They also said I was harassing them for calling repeatedly about my order. They threatened to call the Kentucky State police.

They stated they had recorded my call with the vulgar word but would not replay it to confirm. They also did not advice me that they were recording my call - a definite illegal practice. I am not a terrorist, just a consumer they don't seem to care about. After all, I only spent $84 on their company.

I contacted the Better Bussiness Bureau in Manhattan. Silverman's has been a member only since Jul althought they have been in existence since the early 1900's, I belive 1913 The Better Bussiness Bureau opened a cased and asked me to talk to the owner. He was never there, and never returned the call.

After all the threats, I let them off the hook, and told them to refund my money. They at first only wanted to refund the cost of the Levis and not the shipping and handling. I had to remind them of this small item and they finally said they would refund that also, although everytime they referred to an amount they kept referring only to the cost of the jeans.

On the matter of the vulgar language I had a witness listening to the conversation. I placed him on the phone with the supervisor and she threatened to the state police on him also. This was the first time this individual had spoken with them and all he said was that they were wrong.

This is the most horrible company I've ever dealt with. They have no customer service to speak off. They are completely ignorant of their stock. And my god, they can't find a pair of Levis in over 40 days and still state they don't know when they will arrive.

I bought a pair of black Levis 501s from Macys through Amazon.com. Time from placement of order to receipt - 5 days. Why didn't I think of that before.
