Destroyed my personal property during a move from Miami to Manhatan. Plantation, FL 33313

We were given an initial basic price from WeHaul Moving of $903.01 with no weight limits and 200 cf @ $4.30 per cf from a moving from Florida to NY. WeHaul came to pick up on the 12th of November with a delivery time frame of 3-10 days. As consumers we attempted to purchase additional insurance from WeHoul when the movers arrived and they did not want to provide the same. WeHaul told us that the insurance needed to be purchased before the movers packed the truck. Scott, our sales person, never explained this to us. We attempted to call other companies to purchase insurance and noone wanted to issue the addtional insurance. Stephanie the owner of WeHaul was by far the most ofensive to us during this stressful time. She was extremely unhelpful and unwilling to accomodate our needs to properly insurance the move. WeHaul said that our homeowners would cover the move. WeHaul packed everything in the apartment outside of the boxes of clothing, boxes of kitchen materials and boxes for the an extra room.in other words WeHaul packed all the large items of furniture, television, art and statutes. At this time we had already been charged by WeHaul a total of $1,157.00. Our original estimated cost was $903.01. The move was supposed to be delivered the week of Thanksgiving. We made arrangements for family members to fly to New York to assist with the delivery of the move. The airline tickets totalling approximately $500.00. When we attepted to reach WeHaul for an update we were given the run around and noone wanted to speak with us. Scott would even hung up the phone on us when inquiring about the status of the move. We were constanly told to call some other company for an update. WeHaul Movers never obtained any updates for us or assisted us with obtaining information. Scott even said he normally has nothing to do with the status after he sells the services to the consumer. We obtained any and all updates directly from the dispatcher. WeHaul charged us an additional $1,215.00 in order to deliver our items. So twenty days after the mover originally came in order to deliver our items we then advised by WeHaul that addtional monies were now due because of them having to change trucks in New Jersey. You see eighteen wheel trucks are not allowed onto Manhatan and WeHaul never explained this to us properly. WeHaul always maintained that they would deliver the move themselves which we later found out that they did not even do the job themselves. When we finally received a call on a Saturday, WeHaul was demanding the addtional monies mentioned above and expecting it all in cash funds or they would not deliver our goods. We then called We Houl Moving, Inc. And at this time they did attend to our inquiry about the move. You see WeHaul was eager to obtain the addtional funds however WeHaul did not say anything about the condition that our things would eventually be returned to us. They attended us in order to collect the addtional funds from us via credit card payment. The balance was paid in full and they finally delivered our personal belogings. To our surprise many of the boxes had been opened and had water damaged. Many items were wet and destroyed. Our flat screen television set is now missing. There was an antique bench that the legs are damaged. There were two stone statutes, one was shattered and the other has been bang around obtaining scraches and dents. Our clothes have been water damaged and need to be cleaned and or dry cleaned. The work men they had were rude and unattentive to the clients needs. They told us they were professionals and in reality they let us down and destroyed our things.
