IGA Food Stores
IGA - IGA Grocery Store Deceptive practices and rotten vegetables

Shops, Products, Services

This IGA grocery store uses deceptive advertising within their store. While purchasing Cabbage, their sign over the Cabbage read in very large heavy bold letters "CABBAGE". Right below that in very small light print it had "1 lb.". Below that in very large heavy bold print was "2/88 cents". However, it was not printed as "cents", but used the cent sign.

I am 67 years old and do all the shopping. Anyone reading this sign would assume that you could purchase 2 hears of cabbage for $. 88. That was not the case. It was 2 lbs. For $. 88.

Also, their vegetables are far from fresh. I shop at this IGA store ONLY when I need a couple items. Since I am retired military, I do my major shopping at the Navy Commissary. However, when I need Bell Peppers I know to never go to this IGA store. Their Bell Peppers are always small, no larger than a baseball, and they are so old they are dried and have more wrinkles than I have. Surely the Manager of that department can clearly see that they are over-ripe, but they do not remove them.

I have sent e-mails to the IGA company concerning these issues, but never receive a response.
