Sheila Haughey At Snook And Haughey, Unprofessional and Discriminatory Treatment from Sheila Haughey at Snook and Haughey

Over a year ago, I went to Snook and Haughey P.C.in Charlottesville, VA with a friend to help her hire a divorce lawyer to help her dissolve her marriage. The paper work was completed, Sheila Haughey took the case and file for the divorce. Last Month, I emailed Sheila with a simple request for the exact date of the divorce.

A week goes by, I never got a response, so I called her office. I asked her assistant to speak to Sheila Haughey. She responded, " Mrs Haughey had informed me that she does want to talk to me and for me to stop any further contact via email or phone. I asked her to give me a logical explanation for your refusal to talk to me. She stated once again, Mrs Haughey does not want to talk to you in a very rude and condensing tone, then hung up the phone.

At first, I thought maybe I was violation client/attorney confidentiality, so I had my friend call Mrs Haughey herself. Mrs. Haughey got on the phone and starts to yell at her, "I told your friend to stop calling here, you can get the information yourself by going to the circuit court." She said it in a very loud condescending tone and hung up the phone. She was paid over $600 dollars for her services, and this was the treatment we got after the job was done.

It's unfortunate that I can't file a complaint to the Virginia State Bar because her actions we're not deems unethical. Her company name is not in the Better Business Bureau either. I just want to post this up for anyone that is looking for a divorce lawyer in Charlottesville, Virginia to be aware.
