Tickles Cashed Bounced check after Daughter pulled out of their care

I am posting this to warn parents of the shady practices at Tickles Daycare. I recently pulled my daughter out of their care because I was uncomfortable with the owner's 15yo daughter taking full responsibility for the children there. I also did not like the way my money was handled. I almost never received a receipt for payment and the owner was almost never there for drop-off or pick-up.

The worst thing that happened there was when I paid with a check. The owner went to the bank that same day and saw that I did not have the money in my account (i was to be paid that night at 12mid) and proceeded to charge me a NSF fee for my check. I made the mistake of not asking for my check back because she went back 1 week after I had pulled my daughter out of her care and cashed that check. When I called to ask why she did this she got all defensive and said I was threatening her. She said I did not put in the full 2 weeks notice before I pulled out my daughter. I did put in my notice, but since she is never there I had to rely on her husband to tell her.

The business practices that go on at her daycare are rediculous. She has not responded to the BBB complaint against her company. Parents beware of dawn velez/tickles daycare!!!
