Attempting To Collect An Unlawful Debt

Allied American Credit, LLC (1-800-854-8260; 1-509-242-5100; P.O. Box 3766, Spokane, WA 99220-3766) is a collection agency which has been retained by Dex Media (a subsidiary of the HR Donnelly Company) to collect a debt against my company.
However, the debt they are attempting to collect is illegal, to wit-
1.) Dex Media erroneously published advertising in their yellow pages for our business without our approval and which contained misspellings and has an unprofesional appearance. Despite this, and the fact that our company never signed and/or gave verbal approval for this erroneous advertising, Dex Media still thinks it can bill us for this. Furthermore, and despite our declination of same, Dex Media is attempting to bill us for an ad larger than we approved and for internet linkage (which we specifically stated to our sales rep that we did not want nor need).
2.) Dex Media assigned this unlawful debt to Allied American Credit LLC, and despite being advised by our company that they are attempting to collect an illegal debt, Allied has continued to attempt this unlawful activity (which is against the law in accordance with the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as various state laws designed to protect consumers from unlawful debt collection practices and abuses by collection agencies).
It is this "we-are-the-big-guy-and-we-can-bully-the-little-guy" corporate mentality that allows these practices to continue unabated. Dex Media is conducting unprofessional and fraudulent business practices by unapproved advertising (and then the subsequent billing of their customers for such unapproved ads), and unlawful and inflated invoicing. And Allied American Credit, LLC is complicit in these unlawful activities by agreeing to pursue collection efforts based on fraudulent billing.
It is our intent to file civil legal action naming Allied American Credit as well as Dex Media if these unlawful collection activities do not cease.
