HPFJobs.com STOP! Do Not Do Business with These People

Shops, Products, Services

Unless you want to pay thousands of dollars to have your resume rewritten, do not do business with these people.

Complaint #1 - they use deceptive sales practices

They contacted me claiming that I fit the profile of several jobs they were trying to fill. I worked with them for over two months and they never introduced me to a single opportunity. (I found a job on my own.)

Complaint #2 - their agreement is ambiguous and/or deceptive

The agreement requires a non-refundable retainer. It is clear spelled out that the retainer is nonrefundable. However, their interpretation is that the retainer is a fee IN ADDITION to the other fees spelled out in the contract. This is not clear from any of the language in the contract.

Complaint #3 - the people are deceptive

I raised the question of the fees versus the retainer with one of the principals of the company at a time when I could still back out of the contract. They agreed that is was to be applied to the "job acceptance fee". After the fact they claimed that the retainer was in addition to the job acceptance fee.

I paid the retainer willingly but I have refused to pay the additional fees and after threatening me with nasty letters from their attorney, they are suing me in small claims court. I hesitated to do business with them in the first place, but against my better judgment I decided to try it. Had I found this site I would have known that my instincts were correct. I am hoping to help you avoid the same mistake.

I assume the company will post a rebuttal and I will gladly provide more details as necessary.
