Damaged goods - over charged - won't stand behind their work austin

I wish I had seem this website before I contracted with All My Sons! They charged almost $4,000 to move an 1,800sf house and store my belongings for 6 weeks while our house being remodeled. The movers were slow and NOT strong. They wanted to take an hour lunch break and did not even bring anything to drink. They insisted we pay up front BEFORE the move started... With a credit card. They quickly have you sign and initial the receipt. They NEVER mention they are NOT bonded and you must purchase additional insurance from another provider (they are not licensed to sell the insurance) IF you want your belongings to be insured.

When our belongings were moved to the new house, a 5' tall carved wooden giraffe statue came back in 2 pieces -a giraffe with 3 legs and the 4th leg broken off and handed to me. A new leather dining room chair was damaged. Both pieces were valued at over $1,000. They acknowledged the damage was their fault and had me initial the receipt.

My warning to everyone DON'T USE THIS COMPANY and IF you do... READ EVERY FINE PRINT DETAIL BEFORE YOU SIGN! They have you pay upfront with a credit card for a reason.

When I called the claims office, they sent me a form (with no return address - now I know why) and instructions. I took pictures and completed the form as instructed thinking this was a reputable company and we would be covered for our damaged goods. Wrong. After a 3 week wait, we get a letter in the mail telling us they will be mailing us a check for $21.00 to cover our damaged belongings.

Apparently, in the fine print it says your goods are only worth. 60 cents per POUND. I called the claims office and got some RUDE girl on the phone that said "Get out your contract. It is right there in print." As I read and came to that section, she interrupted and said "Uh huh, Girl, that is exactly what I am tawkin' about. You signed it.". I was so mad I could hardly speak. I called All My Sons and got another rude person who told me Todd Harrison is the owner and not in the office until Monday and would call me. No word.

I think the best way to settle overcharged, bad service it to make sure other potential clients do not get ripped off by unprofessional, dishonest companies! We could have used a large moving company and not spent as much money as we did with this jinky RIP-OFF mover. DO NOT USE THEM!!! Obviously from this website... I am not alone here.
