Interest Rate Raised 8 Points After Payment Protection Ended

Shops, Products, Services

I too am a victim of Greedy Capitol One, however I did receive the payment protection for a while. I had paid for it for 10 years and had to use it recently.
After the protection payments ended Capitol One raised my interest rates 8 points on my credit cards. The explanation they gave me was "it is a business decision to better serve the customer later"

Who do they think they are kidding? I have never paid a payment late, never was over limit am not even close to the limit, in fact I have been trying to pay them off so I haven't been charging on them.

I believe this is Capitol One's way of forcing the small time consumer to pay them more.

They are not making enough money on me, so they are forcing me to pay a higher interest rate or opt out which lets me pay off the card at the lower rate but immediately stops me from using it then when it is paid off they cancel it.

Has anyone else had their interest rate raised for no reason?
