I fell for it... Don't you. I purchased two 24 month magazine subcriptions (at $190?) I didn't really need because a scripture-quoting, well-groomed, African-american young man (with references) convinced me that it would help him become the man and father his newborn son (he showed me a picture) would grow to be proud of. My help in advancing his career by purchasing the subscriptions would keep both he and his son off the street and on a path to success and happiness.
The shame of it is not that I will not receive the magazines... I will not offer to help the next person with a hardluck story... The young man who took my check diminished my sensitivity to those people who honestly need a hand.
Use your head with these people, not your heart!!!
