Scam artist con man takes deposit for granite countertops and then does not deliver services ripoff Los Angeles

I am a victim of home improvement fraud. I read on usacomplaints.com a complaint from Dawn - Sun Valley 2004 about this guy Armik Shahinian who scammed her taking deposit for redoing her kitchen. Same guy four years later - similar story. Found a flyer and his website.interviewed him as well as many other contractors. Website says bonded/licensed/insured. Its all bull. Chose him over others, gave deposit (half the money due, to redo my counters with new granite. This included buying granite and laying it. Thank god i had home depot due refacing of my cabinets otherwise i'd be out even more money. 6 weeks later still waiting for him to get past his excuses as to why no work had been done. He had sent me to a granite warehouse which i thought he was affiliated with. Found out later that he was not. Always had an excuse, fire, holiday, granite on its ways from south america, etc. When i went back to warehouse thinking he was affiliated with these legit people, they told me he was not, he had bounced checks on them, just a guy who occasionally bought granite from them. Found legit person, one week later my granite was in. Beautifully done. Taking him to small claims court, wondering what happened with Dawn from Sun Valley. Did she ever get her money back from him. Would love to know if he has criminal record. I think if he does can then go to police and he would be arrested. He obviously does this all the time. Money i gave for deposit was over $4,000. Asked for my deposit back, he said he would put immediately in mail, yeah sure. This all just happened.
Dawn if you read this, or any one else who has encountered this guy, please let me know.
