Continued billing for three years oncancelled service Ripoff

My son's cell phone stopped working. He got another from a different carrier. I called and cancelled his service on July 26. The last use of the phone was on July 4. The contract had expired. On August 12 my wife and son visited a Sprint store to see if the contact info could be transferred to his new phone. They said they could not do this.

Then sprint continued to send bills for the next three years! My C.P.A. Mistakenly paid ;nearly $1700 over the three years thinking it was for another cellular phone.

Upon discovering this Sprint was called and they said yes the service had been cancelled in 2002 and that I was a victim of identity theft and should call the police. That was a lie.
I have spent hours on the phone trying to get a refund. They said wait and we will contact you. So far nothing.

They did the same thing to me with a pager years before, luckly I never paid the bills they sent ;me for two years.
