Laclede Gas
Ripoff

Laclede gas is tring to charge me $2300 because the previous owner of my home stole gas or because they forgot to shut off the gas. Either way I just moved in two months ago and keep my thermostat at 62 and do not owe $2300.00. Or maybe they read the meter wrong. I have no idea what goes on in their monopoly and neither do they because they have no competition.

My husband and I realized the American dream in November and bought a home. We thought we were getting a great deal when we bought a foreclosed home but we were wrong. My husband and I watch our money wisely. We cannot even have children yet because we do not have enough money to raise the child the way we dream of. Now we receive a bill from Laclede gas for $2071.77 dollars, it would have been more but I have just paid them over one hundred dollars. I called Laclede gas and they say that they came out to read the meter in October and there was a leak and they shut off the valve. Then we took ownership of the house in November and had the problem fixed and Laclede gas came out again in January. They say they turn off the meter but who really knows and who knows if they read the metercorrectly. I keep my thermastat at 62 and it is cold.

This monopoly has got to end. There is no customer support or respect and why would they care when we as consumers have nowhere else to turn!!!
