I signed up for the triple advantage program through freecreditreport.com around December and really had no problems until the beginning of 2006. The beginning of 2006 marked the end of the one year period I had paid for in the triple advantage program. At this time I stopped receiving emails from them completely up until October when I suddenly began receiving email notifications from them again.

When the one year period came around I was under the impepression the my account was no longer active for several reasons. During the year of 2005 they had always billed my creditcard on the 18th or 19th of the month, no sooner and no later. I had checked my creditcard statement during that period up until about the 22nd-23rd of January and no charges had been made, with this and the fact that I was no longer receiving notifications I assumed that my account had expired.

When I suddenly started receiving emails from then again in October I checked back through my old statements and saw that they had not charged for the month of January until the 25th and had been charging me the $12.00 per month even though my account was not working.

Upon discovering that I was still being charged I called the toll free customer service line and explained my situation. I was told by the representative that Freecreditreport.com does not send out any type of regular emailings or newsletter type emails although I am receiving them now, so I dont know how I could be receiving them if they dont send them out.

I was also told that no action had been taken on my account and no items had been reported that would prompt them to send me a notification between the period of January and October yet when I checked the account items had been reported and they had updated yet I still received no notification.

There is one collection noted on my account that the company regularly reports every 3 months or so yet I never received any notification of it. The representative at freecreditreport.com denied this.

So during these months I was not receiving notifications I was charged a total of $112.00 for nothing, I did not receive the services they claim to have provided. When speaking with the freecreditreport.com representative it was apparent that they really didnt know much about the system, the program or what was going on. Every time I asked a question I had to be put on hold while they checked for an answer.

I have tried to report this to the appropriate BBB office but have had no success with them either and they refuse to return my phone calls. The BBB office that oversees this company serves Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties. I even tried to submit a report on their website at labbb.org but everytime I fill out the complaint and submit the form it goes into limbo. Ive tried it in 3 different browsers. I even tried to create a consumer account there and it has been in the pending mode for 3 months now.

According the this BBB office freecreditreport.com AKA consumerinfo.com has received 2402 complaints against them in the last 36 months.By those statistics I would have to say they some real issues to prompt 2400 people to file a complaint.
