World wide lotto promotions - nyk line - john mayor chief financial officer george nash ripoff mailed me a check for 3,500 with promise of 250,000 payout of lottery winning

A friend of mine received an official looking check supposedly drawn from citibank in the amount of 3,500.00 from a company by the name of nyk line (north america) inc. A letter from world wide lotto promotions with a las vegas nv address, stating the check was to pay insurance, handling and shipping fee on a 250,000.00 sweepstakess or lottery drawing. This "company" states it has offices in germany, canada, hong-kong, ecuador, south africa, ireland, france, italy and england. My friend called the phone number mentioned in the letter and was directed to deposit the check in to her checking account as they had just activated the check for release of funds. They also directed her not to say anything to anyone until she received her money. We decided to look online for citibank in delaware (the branch mentioned on the check) and get a phone number for citibank. We found out that there was no such account for the company named on the check, no such routing number, and we recieved a tidbit of helpful information to watch for. Citibank does not use commas in their dollar amount.in other words 3,500.00 would actually appear 3500.00. Also, the citibank customer service rep. My friend spoke with stated that citibank does not in anyway support or endorse anything to do with lotto or gambling. I hope this helps or prevents someone from being scamed from these bums that can't seem to make an honest living without hurting innocent people.
