Agreed to pay 40% commission and did so until I decided I no longer wanted to work, received minimum wage for hours worked instead, ripping me off for more than $500

I was hired by Regis on8/7/06 after being interviewed by the area manager named marguerite. She explained to me that I would be making 40% commission to start;which by the way is in writng.

Anyway, the store was severely mis-managed: there was a constant problem with someone being there to open the salon, several of the employees were doing drugs outside in the parking lot on breaks, terrible hair services being done there AND being overcharged, money was being pocketed by the manager as well as "her Clique" rather than being processed through the register.

As a result of my attempts to rat on this illegal operation to marguerite-I was harrassed. As far as I know she may have been taking part in embezzling as well as she called the day after I left her a message with a very nasty disposition telling one of the girls to "confiscate my license" because I had a customer complaint.

I was not about to let anyone physically take my license. If there really was a complaint my license number would have been sufficient-but that wasn't enough for them - so I was fired.

When I went to get my last check I was paid minimum wage and ripped off for exactly $559.35 after making them 2004.00 in service sales and selling 213.77 in retail which I was supposed to make 10% commission of of also.

I have contacted several state and federal agencies in lieu of answers to the many unanswered questions I have. My feeling is that what comes around goes around and I wouldn't recommend a dog to go to that salon much less a patron and as a prospective employee if you want to get paid as promised after working your tail off please don't make the mistake of going to work for Regis in the govenors square mall in Tallahassee. You would do better working in a field somewhere.
