Nation movers inc fraudulent quote procedures dishonest rip off inexperienced packers and drivers damaged furniture

Our Move was scheduled for June 20th. Movers to arrive by 9am in the morning. Bid was for $9416.25. To ensure an over estimate from Odelia Vale, my sales agent, I included on the inventory sheet that she emailed to me way more furniture than I actually have. She emailed me back and said that there was no way my bid from her would come in short because she based her quote exactly off of my inventory sheet.

On move day, the movers did not arrive until almost 2:00pm. For help with the packing, they hired vagrant workers from a company called "Labor Ready" to help pack up the home. Not Experienced Packers, as you can imagine. Their packing procedures were as follows: Literally clearing out drawers and throwing items into boxes. No labeling, very little bubblewrap used on breakable items, so on and so forth. Half way through the packing and loading of the truck, they advised us that we need to pay them an additional $4000 upon delivery because they did not expect so many things in the home, keep in mind my original inventory list. We told them to forget it and unpack the truck then. At this point, they informed us that the entire $9416.25 would be forfeited to their company for cancellation. So we agreed to the additional $4000. At this point, lose $4000 more or $9400, which would you do.

Packing (in the same procedure) went on until midnight, at which time it was decided that many of my household goods had to be left behind because they did not send a large enough truck. Throughout this process, we were calling their home office in Georgia, arguing with Sammy, who did nothing but insult our intelligence and justify their behalf. When they got all that they could on the truck and were ready to leave, they said that the $4000 was now almost $7000, and it would need to be paid upon destination or we would not get our furniture. Then they asked for a TIP!!! Needless to say, they did not receive one.

We called for the next several days arguing with Sammy and Odelia, but to no avail. We had to pay the additional money to receive our goods. When they were dropped off, our mattresses were soaking wet, ruined. Our furniture scraped, dented, damaged. There was nothing in our home older than two years, and now it looks horrible. The drivers laughed and informed us that it was a good thing that we had extra insurance. We are now in the process of sorting through our broken, damaged household goods, and filing insurance claims. Do not ever use this company if you value your household goods.
