Office supply rip-off

I was called by a female saying she knew my CFO and called him by name. She said she and her husband were moving their office supply business from a city in our state to Mississippi and needed to reduce their inventory before they moved. She quoted all these supplies at unbelievable prices and said they just didn't want to move them. I bit. When I received the boxes of supplies, I noticed they were not from our state but from Mississippi, which I thought was unusual since she had told me they wanted to reduce their inventory before they moved. I got a bad feeling then. I didn't open the boxes, told my CFO what I had done and he asked me to take an inventory of the supplies. I did. They shorted us on some items and sent wrong brands on others. We are awaiting a call from them for payment. They have already tried to circumvent me and faxed an overdue statement to our accounting department for payment. Our lawyers will get involved at this point. There are too many reports about this company on the internet for them to think they can get paid with this kind of scam. These people need to be in prison where they belong.
