Y100.7 deceptive modeling/acting announcement ripoff

Hi,

I would like to address and notified other parents of an advertising announcement on Y100.7 in South Florida area. My daughter went to the John Roberts Powers Modeling School for an audition. She made it to the first audition and was called for a second audition. At the second meeting, her father and I were told we need to pay $1900 for 20 weeks or $3900 for 30 weeks in which within a week casting directors from LA will be visiting for upcoming Disney shows.

Her father was very concerned and asked questions related to guarantying that success. We were told that only 5% of the people auditioning even make it to the second audition, therefore, the success was very good. Once the "talent recruiter" (as it was suggested to think of him), noticed our concerned, we were quickly rushed out due to his very busy schedule since he needs to find talent for the upcoming shoWs. He used many sales high-pressured sales tactics that made us suspicious.

Having family members in the business, we decided to call them and did some research on the Internet. I also spoke to several parents who recently signed their kids/grandkids up who happened to be there for their first lesson. These grandparents/parents are hardworking individuals with very little income who placed these high fees on their credit cards because they are being told their kids have a good chance of being a star and will be in front of casting directors immediately. They even promoted a girl who recently got a $2 million contract as one of their many success stories. It just happens that the girl and her mother were there in which I spoke with also. JRP had nothing to do with this young ladies recent contract. They just happened to be at a convention where an agent from NYC spotted her than that agent told Virgin Records in LA. I'm very terrified to know that Y100.7, a reputable radio station would advertise under the false pretense that JRP is actually looking for upcoming talent when it is ONLY A CHARM, MODELING TRAINING SCHOOL. I'm distraught to know of the numerous lawsuits posted on the Internet. Then, why is this company still in business? Why is law enforcement not taking the measures necessary?
