Valley Yellow Pages
Lists wrong phone number, won't return calls, Still wants to get paid

Shops, Products, Services

I called this company and tried to place an ad, their publishing schedule occurs at various times throughout the year per location. They try to sell subscriptions in the areas with fewer ads in order to make their book not too small in some areas. I dealt with somebody named OLA, very unprofessional and straight off the boat.

After filing a listing with them, they published the wrong phone number. This ad was useless to me and they also could not claim that I benefitted in someway for the unpaid and published ad because, again, they published the wrong phone number. I am not getting any business as a result of their ad. I refuse to pay and they refused to return my calls when it was time to correct the ad. Sorry VYP, no play no pay. Avoid this company at all cost. I read the other customer's complaint from Sacramento, very similar experience to mine. Don't give them your Social Security number or they will try to file a bad credit claim against you.

Whenever a business asks for your social security number it should raise a red flag, that perhaps they are getting paid in advance for services that should be billed monthly, and that instead they are getting paid intially for a yearly cost and that you are instead receiving financing. If previous customers weren't willing to pay for their services monthly, perhaps there were previous problems? These are reminiscent of the Health and Fitness club "packages" of the early 80's, remember how much trouble those were?
