Ripoff, scam, overcharged

I rented a U-haul on Saturday. I was only going in town. So I had the in-town fee of 29.95. I went a total of 19.5 miles. We put 10.00 in gas just before we brought it back to make sure the gas was right. (knowing about the 30.00 fee they charge) So the gas gauge said we put in the right amount of gas and we took it back that night.

Well I just got the amount they billed me a whopping 127.97.60.00 more than what I should of be billed.

I called the U-haul company and asked them how this bill could be so much. He then told me I did not put enough gas in the truck. I was dumbfounded. I told him that I put gas in the truck and he said well you must not put enough.

I then explained that 10.00 of gas would give me 3 gallons. And I only went 19 miles. That would be about 6 miles per gallon.

And he told me well that's what the bill is and there is nothing he could do to help me. So I asked for a number where I could call that someone could help me.

He gave me a number that was no longer in service.

I then talked to a lady who was SOOOOO rude and told me that she does not feel like dealing with this today.

After I found someone else I explained the problem and he pretty much said that he could not help either. I then told him even if I did not put and gas in the truck that would mean they were charging 10.00 a gallon of gas.

I will explain like I explained to him. I know about the 30.00 fee so that is not even included. So if they charged 30.00 for gas and I went 19 miles then that would come out to 10.00 a gallon of gas.

When I explained this to him he told me that he does not feel like doing math problems right now.

So basically it is my word against theirs. I even mentioned that I has the gas reciept and he said I does not matter.

I wish someone could help me!
