Both puppies were purchase from the same pet store from the same breeder a week apart from one another. Since, I am a novice in selecting puppies, I was unaware what was ahead. Both puppies had a running nose and runny eyes, and the female had a cough. I mentioned to Julie (Manager, Orland Park, IL) of their conditions, her replied was OH they are just shock from coming such a long way and it is cold outside and they have a small cold. The pets store sells huge amount of quantity of pets there are 5 Happiness is Pets Stores. I just thought Julie was telling me the truth about the condition of the puppies, when I asked about the cough, running nose, and eyes.

I was not that concerned about their colds and the puppies were better in my house. I made sure they had a heating pad, plenty of water and ate every day. On 3/2/06, my male puppy looked like he was sick, when I came home from work. My daughter had been taking care of them and she told me he just started looking and acting sick. I immediately fed him, wrap him in a blanket, and gave him water. He was better and I bought a humidifier for both dogs, so they can breath better with their running nose.in the morning, my female puppy, back was arched, her gums were white, she was hacking and foam was coming out of her mouth. Also, her eyes were blood shot and swollen and dilated and red with mucus coming out of them. Her nose, there was some very cloudy kind of mucus coming out of her nose. She really was trying to breath, it was the most awful experience I have ever been in to see my puppy so sick.

I then took them both to my VET in Lemont. My vet did a parvo test and it came out neg. The female puppy had been out of warranty for three days and my vet spoke to JOHN (Manager) in the Naperville store and he agreed to pay for both puppies vet bills @ Midwest Animal Hospital Orland Park, IL. My female puppy died that night 3/3/06, After the autopsy, the puppy died of upper respiratory infection and pneumonia. I was davastated, heartbroken. I than spoke with John and he said he will get back to me. The next day, I went to Happiness is Pets Orland Park, IL and saw another female Cavalier and told them I wanted this one and Julie said OK and took of her collager & mark the cage sold.

I visit my puppy every other day. Julie said she had a cold and did not want to give me the puppy because of her cold. One day, I was at the pet store playing with Lola (I had name her already) and I saw another puppy that I fell in love and purchased this puppy, which was a Pekingese, and my new pek and my replacement female cavalier were playing together. Julie suggested it, to see if they get along. I kept calling and asking when I can take my replacement puppy home, and Julie would inform me that the puppy didn't pass the Vet exam. On 3/15/06, I called to see if my new replacement puppy had pass the Vet check and Julie said yes.

Sadly, that day Julie informed me that the owner was not going to replace my died puppy, but agreed to pay for the Vet bills (the puppies were sick when I purchase them) was going to pay for the vet bill. My male puppy is still in the hospital, but he still has congestion, running nose and is eating baby food only. Now, I am out two puppies, one that died and one that so sick, that he might never get better. The breeder that the puppies game from Steve Kruse 2345 Highway 16 Iowa 52656-9266 (319) 837-6039 is a bad breeder. They are complaint about this breeder all over the Internet.
