Vending machine route sales scams based in florida and georgia with no enforcement by fla. & ga. Attorney general offices

In the "business opportunities" section of the newspaper
classifieds, one will find vending machine routes for sale through 1-800 phone numbers. Many of these businessesor "boiler room" operations operate out of Florida or Georgia.."Ahemmm." That should alert someone right away. Beware of businesses based in Florida or Georgia!

The salesmen or con men promise that their company, upon receiving your money, will deliver and locate vending machines. When you call the A.G.'s Office in these states about the history of such companies, the answer is, "They have no complaints against them."

So the victim sends the company a check. The company does send the vending machines, but does not send out people to locate the vending machines as promised. The victim is left with a bunch of vending machines he cannot locate himself. When the victim complains to the Florida Attorney General's Office, they send you a complaint form to fill out, and you find out the company is out of business, and the same people have opened up a new vending machine sales business under a new name with — "surprise" — no complaints on their new record...
The scam repeats under a new name.

The Georgia Attorney General's Office? Georgia does not even respond to complaints, I've found — even though I twice wrote them about a vending machine sales repoff based in the Atlanta area.

People Nationwide need to be alerted to beware of vending machine sales companies based in Florida or Georgia.
