Ripoff Fraudulent Billing for Security Monitoring of Property No Longer Owned

The company that was previously providing security monitoring for our home on a month-to-month basis was acquired by Protection Service Industries (PSI). We sold our home in October and notified the company in writing that security monitoring was to be discontinued effective October 30.

The written notification was included with the advance payment for the month of October. We have moved to an apartment awaitng completion of our new home. PSI has continued to bill for services to property that we no longer own.

I have sent one and sometimes two letters each month to PSI since October pointing out the fact that we do not own the property they claim to be providing security monioring for.

On January 24 they sent a "Final Notice of Service Disconnection". I immediately responded with a letter congratulating the on finally doing what we had requested on October 30. I am in the process of requesting that the Washoe County District Attorney investigate PSI for fraudulent billing practices.

Any attempts by PSI to place these fraudulent billings into collections will accelerate this process and may result in my own legal action if my mortgage application is influenced by a negative credit rating as a result of actions by PSI.
