Deceptive delivery practices and surcharges

Mountain Engery has a policy for propane deliveries that is set up to ensure they extort excessive fees from any customer who may be running low on propane. They claim to only run delivery routes every 8 weeks due to ice on the roads, even though on the majority of roads in thier delivery area there may be ice 5 or 6 days a year in a typical winter. They are supposed to call you to schedule delivery, but make little or no attempt to do so. Then, should you miss a delivery and run low before the next one they have a very high minimum delivery.

I have one phone number on file for them. For 2 consecutive delivery periods they made no attempt to call it. I know this because it is a cell phone and on the bill every incoming call is on my bill. They never spoke to me, and never left any messages... Because despite thier claims they never called. I even verified they had my number correct. Then after the second missed delivery the woman who answered my call said "Well we called your work and left a message with the girl that answered", which is an absolute lie because my work number is a second number that comes to my same cellphone! When I told her this she admitted that they didn't have good records of who they call but they know they call everyone... Yeah right.

They know that when people miss the "scheduled" delivery they can sell them more propane than they might otherwise buy, so they make no effort to contact people hoping they miss them. I told them to stuff it and went to Blossman, a company that manages to deliver every 2 weeks on the same roads these clowns can only deliver on every 8, and who actually call and leave me messages.

Buyer beware... These clowns will do everything they can to make you buy more than you need!
