I've been unemployed for a couple months, having just quit a job in the private security field. I need money and wanted to get into something that ISN'T related to security, so looking on careerconnection.com this past Wednesday (Jan. 11, '06), I found the followind ad:

"Entry Level FUN JOBS! Serious $ working with non-serious people. Will train in all aspects of business. Not making $500 per week? Call Katie at 473-9742"

Sounded interesting, and definately wasn't security, so I called. A girl named Stephanie picked up, I asked to speak to Katie, Stephanie put me on hold. About a minute later, "Katie" picked up the phone, and wouldn't ya know it, Katie and Stephanie had the exact same voice. Anyway, "Katie" set me up for an interview at 12:30 that afternoon. I asked where the place was located, got directions, and went to the interview.

I was interviewed by Stephanie, or was it Katie? — never asked about any prior experience; nor was I asked about anything related to any sort of job. What was I asked?
"Who do you admire?" and "Where were you born?" The fact that I admire my grandpa and was born in California really don't have anything to do with a job, do they? Also, this is for a "management" position. I have no experience that even closely resembles management.

So I left the interview, got a call later from Katie/Stephanie telling me that they'd like me for a second interview on Friday at 11. So I went to the second interview. There were about 50 people, mostly college aged, crammed into a tiny room at the back of the office, and seated in uncomfortable chairs. The interviewer, a guy by the name of Rich Young, came in, had a very foul mouth (being ex-military, this normally doesn't bother me, but it seems very unprofessional coming from your perspective boss), and talked more about himself and RJ Hunter, his cohort, than about the company.

So, Mr. Young blabbered on for about three hours, then took us back, two or three at a time, to his office, interviewed us each for about 10 seconds and then told us to be there at 10:30 monday morning for orientation.

I was elated at this, but earlier this evening I decided to do a little more research on the company after a friend was telling me about RJ Hunter cancelling a check he had given my friend for his roommates rent. Come to find out that Atlantic Enterprises of Virginia is a branch of Scentura Creations, and I couldn't find anything nice written about either group, except on Scentura's official website.

So, these guys can kiss my rear. I'm not going to orientation, and I'd like to see these guys tarred, feathered, and run out of town.
