Attempts email scam, claims $1.5 million in overseas lottery winnings

Today I received an email claiming I'd won $1.5mill, USD. The timing made it seem like a miracle. However, I had the good sense to investigate before contacting them.
I was unable to find anything about this company on usacomplaints.com. A good sign, right?
BUT - a google search on "Netherlands lottery" yeilded numerous hits, and the top few were all about scams. The very first page listed the name of the company my "miracle" had come from. The second page had a sample letter that was almost word for word the email I'd received, with the details (amount, company, ref #s and such) being the only major differences.
The first web page mentioned that the Netherland authorities was interested in receiving any correspondance that held Netherland addresses or phone numbers. I've already forwarded my email.
Mercifully, I avoided being scammed by these people. I wanted to post here on usacomplaints.com in the hope that the next person who recieves one of these emails will be protected. Here is the address of the webpage I found on the lottery, listing oddles of alias the scammers use: (link deleted - see below)
They specifically recommend AGAINST replying to the email, even to say you suspect them, because they hound and even threaten anyone who responds into being scammed anyway. They also recommend sending the email to the Netherlands authorities: (email deleted - see below)
