Trying to make me pay a bill that has already been proven as paid! Ripoff

This company-almost a year later-is still trying to make me pay a bill that I paid early this year. I even sent them a copy of the cnacelled check, as per THEIR request! They cannot answer my question of where this supposed payment that I owe is supposed to go to, as the original company went out of business over the summer. Repeated calls to B.O.S.S. Has resulted in them hanging up on me, despite my being nice. As Midland is only an hour's drive from me, they may be seeing me in their offices if they hang up again.
