Divorce lawyer defrauding clients, ripoff

In October I instructed this lawyer to handle my divorce. I put complete trust in her, which was my biggest mistake, after 9 months, we were still at square 1 and I had paid her over $12.000 with nothing to show for it.

I spoke to a lawyer who knew her personally, gave them an out line on what had been going on and the costs, of which they were astounded at the amount of costs that I had incurred so far.

It appeared that she had been charging me her full legal fees of $250 per hour for the work her assistant at $100 per hour had been doing on her behalf (this is always confirmed in letters and faxes, when the person who is typing them puts their initials on the letter or fax)

When I refused to pay her last bill in May as I requested the reimbursement of the overcharges, she sent my case to a collections agency, therefore I now have a debt, and she does not, even though she owes me money

In addition, she would ignore instructions and repeat work that had already been done. She would prolong work as much to her benefit, a simple divorce should have taken 6 months, it was all increasing billing hours

I have just now informed the FBI as I understand that this fraudulent and the local police. If she has done this to me, then there are probably many other people out there who have also been charged her personal fees rather then that of her assistant fees

This woman needs to be stopped, she is making huge amounts of money and her clients are at her mercy, because they have trusted her when they are at their most vulnerable
