Ripoff, Bait and Switch, Rude, Dishonest, SCAM!

My wife and I hired A-1 professional movers to move us from our apartment into a townhome. We were PROMISED that three men would arrive at our apartment between 4 and 5 P.M. On 08/13/05. We sat there until 7P.M. And finally called. They said that they were way behind.

We were then PROMISED that three men would be there at 7A.M. On 08/14. What we received was TWO men at 7:30 We were in a third floor apartment and we knew that two men was just not enough. When we called, we were told by 'Daniel' that two men was cheaper. We were totally willing to pay for three men because with two, it ended up taking over SEVEN hours to move us.

The move cost us over $500 and last time, with three men, it cost us under $400! We repeatedly called and were told over and over again that they would try and send someone out, or that 'Daniel' would come up and help us himself. Empty promises!

After they finally finished, it lasted from 7:30 until almost 4, we noticed that our brand new sofa had tears and was terribly scuffed. We also had an antique end table that had a leg broken off! When we reported this, they said they were not liable. We signed a form stating that they were not liable for pre damaged items, but were told by the movers that if anything was damaged in the move, that they would take care of it.

We called the office and were very rudely told that it was not their problem. So, according to 'Daniel', if every single thing that we own was damaged or broken during the move that it would not be their fault.

I would like this comapny to refund what we paid them for EXTREMELY inferior service and also to get them to pay for the damage to our belongings.
